About Me

Hello,

My name is Joseph Chinenyeze Ibekwe. I’m a leadership Trainer, Political Communications Consultant; a Journalist, a Publishing Author, and a Minister of the Gospel.

I love to create training courses that teach people to build their economic capacity and prepare others for political engagements. I have done this in the past 25 years.

I set up The Joseph Coaching International. One of my key focus is to provide specialized training for writers and Authors as well as support young entrepreneurs with life skills coaching. That is why you are on this website.

I am the Founding President/CEO, FLED International Leadership Institute, a graduate leadership school, which I established in 1999 to train and mentor leaders and technocrats in Nigeria and Africa. www.flededu.org.  I am also the CEO, Foundation for Leadership & Education Development; a knowledge-based NGO, which I founded in 1995 to promote good governance, facilitate access to basic education and promote entrepreneurial and livelihood opportunities for women and youths. www.fledgroup.org.ng.

I publish Future World Magazine – a human interest magazine. I have written 5 books including these two classics: The Quest for Political Leadership & Citizens Democracy: How Individuals Become Public Citizens (2018), and Politics is a Kingdom Business: How a Christian Should do Politics (2017). Some of my books can be found on Amazon at http://www.amazon.com/author/josephibekwe

I am the lead Pastor at Graced Family Chapel, Abuja (aka Chapel of Grace Transformation Ministry) – a multi-dimensional dynamic Church family focused at transforming individuals and ministries for kingdom impact. www.gracedfamily.org.ng.

I started my journalism career at the Guardian Newspaper, Lagos in 1991, as a reportorial intern. I later moved on to the Daily Times Newspaper, Lagos, where I reported extensively on issues of the environment, health, agriculture and Sciences.

In the past several years, I have taken time off work to attend several self-improvement courses. For instance, I got trained to be UNESCO Development Expert Leader by the UNESCO Training Centre in San Sebastian, Spain. I attended Kenneth E. Hagin’s Rhema Bible Training Centre, Nigeria where I specialized in Spiritual and Societal Leadership.

In 1996 I received a Scholarship from the Kellogg Foundation to become a Fellow of the Salzburg Global Seminar, Austria. In 2010, I was appointed a CSO Fellow of the World Bank/IMF in Washington DC.

Between 2007/2008, I served as Member, National Working Group (NWG) of the Africa Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) on the appointment of the Federal Government of Nigeria.

My life-time work is about teaching and people-helping.

I live in Abuja with my wife, Maryann Onyineychi Ibekwe, a Public Servant and a Fellow of ANAN, and our daughter, Chidinma.  The three of us play Golf.

We love to God by serving our community in any way we can.
