I’m Dr. Joseph Chinenyeze Ibekwe. I’m a Creative Coach and the Founder of The Joseph Coaching International.
I was born on November 12, 1964 in a small rural village called Ezeabgogu, Ezinihitte Mbaise, Imo State, Nigeria. I grew up with five other siblings. My parents had no formal education. My dad loved education but couldn’t access any because of poor parental heritage, but he managed to attend adult education classes and learned how to read and write.
My Mum was an astute petty trader. My Dad and Mum were incredibly hard working people. They taught me the virtue of hard work and perseverance.
I’m a lifelong learner. Through the years, I have grown to acquire multi-disciplinary training and experience as a Para-medic; social entrepreneur; development consultant; leadership facilitator; Gender practitioner; journalist; Publishing Author and a Minister of the Gospel.
I was formerly a development journalist with the Daily Times of Nigeria in Lagos where I reported extensively on issues about health, sciences, environment, and conservation.
I have multi-disciplinary training and experience as a Para-medic, a social entrepreneur, a development consultant, a leadership facilitator; a public issues moderator; a Gender practitioner; a journalist; a Publishing Author and a Minister of the Gospel.
I have come to be referred to as the Apostle of Public Leadership, because of my pioneering work to promote transformational public leadership development in Nigeria and Africa. I am the founder/CEO, Foundation for Leadership & Education Development; an NGO established in 1995 to build the leadership and entrepreneurial capacity of youths to enable them participate in development processes.
In 1999, I also established the Fled International Leadership Institute as aprofessional leadership school to train leaders and entrepreneurs for Africa’s transformation. Through the NGO and the Institute, I have have conducted leadership training programs for over 10, 000 youths and mid-career professionals in the past 30 years. Â
I am formerly a Science journalist with the Daily Times of Nigeria, in the early 1990s where he reported extensively on health issues, the environment, agriculture and Sciences.
I am a 1996 Fellow of Salzburg Global Seminar, Austria and a 2010 CSO Fellow of the World Bank/IMF in Washington DC, USA. Between 2007 & 2008, I served as Member, Africa Peer Review Mechanism National Working Group (APRM-NWG) on the appointment of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation. I am a trained UNESCO Development Expert Leader from UNESCO Training Centre, San Sebastian, Spain.
I am an Amazon-published author of several books including The Quest for Political Leadership & Citizens’ Democracy; Politics is Kingdom Business; College Prefects are Leaders; Effective Writing for Career Excellence; How to Do More By Being More; Take Charge of Your Life, Create the Life You Desire; Promoting Sustainable Human Development through Mentoring; The Audacity of Pursuit, Power of Focused Perseverance; and others.
I am the Publisher of Future World Magazine.
I have been a consultant to UNESCO Nigeria Office, Federal Ministry of Youth Development, Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Federal Ministry of Finance, in the areas of leadership development.
In recognition of my over 25 years of pioneering and groundbreaking work in the institutional and systemic leadership education in Nigeria and Africa, I was recently awarded a Doctorate Degree in Leadership Development & Conflict Mediation, Honoraris Causa, by the Freedom University of USA. I have an completed Masters in Degree in Gender Studies at the University of Abuja where had I previously obtained a Post-Graduate Diploma (PGD) in the same course. I hold a Post-Graduate Diploma is Educations from Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, Post-Graduate Diploma in Journalism from the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Lagos; and a Higher National Diploma in Science Technology, majoring in Microbiology, from the Institute of management & Technology, Enugu.
I am also a graduate of the Kenneth E. Hagin’s Rhema Bible Training Centre, Nigeria where he specialized in Spiritual and Societal Leadership.
I the founder and lead Pastor at Chapel of Grace Transformation Ministry, Inc (Graced Family Chapel), Karu Site, Abuja.
I love gardening and I play golf at my spare time. I live with his family in Abuja – Nigeria.
