You Don’t Own Anything

I Don’t Own Anything. Do You?

I thought I owned this n’ that.

Alas! I don’t own anything

I don’t own my life

It’s a gift from someone.

I don’t own my body,

For it’s the dwelling place of the one higher than me.

I don’t belong to myself.

I’m a purchased possession,

Fully paid for.

I’m bought with a price,

The price so precious, truly costly.

I don’t belong to myself.

I belong to the one who bought me.

I don’t own anything!

The children I bore, don’t belong to me.

They are the heritage of the Lord.

Someday, I will leave them behind.

The house I live, don’t belong to me.

Someday, I will leave it behind.

The cars I drive, don’t belong to me.

Someday, I will leave them behind.

The clothes I wear, don’t belong to me.

Someday, I will get off them and move on.

The position I occupy, don’t belong to me.

Someday, I will get off it for someone else.

I don’t really own anything!

So what’s the fuss n’ struggles?

You build a house, no houses. You buy a car, yes, cars of different brands. You pose to impress who? Who really cares?

You eat this, you drink that! And so what? In your quiet recede, you are empty, lonely and lost!Â

You’re in no way better than the next person. What befalls them will befall you – death. It’s only a matter time. Understand this!

While you still have life, live it to bless, to inspire, and create value. Gloat over nothing and flaunt nothing. You don’t own anything. You brought nothing to this world; not money, not power, not position. You certainly won’t leave this world with any of those. Be humble. Stay humble. Brag over nothing.Â

Live a life of absolute simplicity. Enjoy the time you have now. Thank God for the opportunity to live freely.

Not owning anything.

What do you own?

Nothing!
